Toepen is a card game for 2 to 8 people. It is played with cards 7 to Ace.

Apply game rules
At the start of the game, each player is dealt 4 cards. Play is played in a clockwise direction. The player next to the dealer starts by placing a card face up in front of them. The other players follow with a card of the same suit. If you don't have a card of the same suit, you may place any other card.
The player with the highest card starts the 2nd round. Whoever has the highest card in the 4th round wins the hand.
Order of cards
The order of the cards is Jack, Queen, King, Ace, 7, 8, 9, 10. So the Jack is the lowest card, the 10 the highest.
Penalties and actions
After the 4 rounds, each player except the winner of the hand gets one penalty point. However, a player can strike at any time during the game. Then there will be played for 2 penalty points. All other players have the choice:
- Go along, and therefore also get 2 penalty points if they lose
- Pass, and immediately get 1 penalty point.
Another player can also overthrow. That means that afterwards there will be played for 3 penalty points, the players who pass at that moment will receive 2 penalty points.
