Rules of the game

Board

The board consists of eight rows and eight columns. The player alternately throws a stone into a square.

Tactics

There are various tactics that can be devised. The simplest thing is to prevent your opponent from getting 4 stones in a row. But an offensive tactic often works better. If both players are only defending, there is a good chance of a draw. And if the board is bigger, you are more likely to overlook something that can cause you to lose.
With an offensive tactic you make as many threats as possible and you try to ensure that a defensive stone from your opponent ensures that you can win against another.
